Hello, you folks in Adelaide! I am very thrilled to announce that Grosgrain will join OmMade Meet the Maker Westfield Tea Tree Plaza from this Sunday 27th August. I will showcase some of the finest quality of straw hats handcrafted in Japan, and also will bring unique millinery made hats, fabric turbans, and fabric sun visors all throughly hand-crafted by me, here in Adelaide.
Just a little bit of myself for introduction.
I am Mina, who is behind Grosgrain the Sophisticated Hats. I have been working in fashion industry about 17 years now, first in Japan and now I am based in Adelaide. I moved from Tokyo with my family (my husband, a little girl not so little anymore, and a cat, Beckett) 5 years ago, and settled very well in this beautiful city. I gave birth to my son 2020 in the middle of lockdown at WCH.
Grosgrain was founded in 2011. At that time
, I was in a search of a simple, high-quality wide-brimmed straw hat and struck into the factory who has been operating over fifth generations. I fell in love with the quality of fine straw hats they make and started to originally design them. It has been my passion ever since to create something minimal yet beautiful, functional and long-lasting which you can rely on decades. I enjoy my journey of creating new designs, meeting new people and spread the true meaning of “sustainable wardrobe” through my business.
